A relative newcomer to the real estate profession, Barry spent over 10 years in corporate sales with various company's and worked as a VP of Sales for the Avery Label Company before deciding to move he and his family to the beach! Barry describes the Outer Banks as "paradise" and despite the busy summers, loves the small hometown feeling of living in this community. After five years running a very successful retail business with his wife Debbie, and with their third child on the way, Barry decided it was time for a career change that would allow his wife to spend more time at home with their growing family.
Barry's father Jim, also RE/MAX Ocean Realty Sales Associate, introduced him to the profession. Barry was working at a small independent firm when he learned RE/MAX Broker/Owner John Stubbings was planning to open a new office in Corolla. Despite his short time in the real estate business, Barry knew that the "Best of the Best" were at RE/MAX and he felt a great sense of urgency to get his foot in the door... it was time to make his move. Barry felt very strongly that the national presence of RE/MAX, the referral system and the commission structure were all keys to his future success. The freedom and independence he was offered as a RE/MAX Associate were also very attractive to him.
While Barry admits that his work schedule is nothing less than hectic most of the time, he still manages to balance his life through involvement in his community. In addition to his involvement in Children's Miracle Network and Relay for Life, he has helped extensively with "Operation Christmas Child," an international outreach program that delivers Christmas "Shoebox" Greetings to more than 8 million children worldwide. In 2007 Barry was voted the Dare County Parks and Rec. Volunteer of the Year for his work the children of the Outer Banks. He also recently became Chairman of the Leadership Team of the Fellowship for Christian Athletes, a student led organization that allows students to share faith within their schools. "If we can impact just ONE life" says Barry, "then it is all worth it." A father to Andy (15), Noah (13) and Cole (11), Barry and his wife Debbie recently adopted a beautiful baby girl from China, Noelle, who is 3 years old.

On his way to the Chairman's Club, Barry insists he never really focused on the Goal, but concentrated mainly on building, maintaining and servicing his customer base. He believes in constant personal contact and insists that customers always remain informed, both in good times and in bad. No news, is NEVER good news as far as Barry is concerned and the importance of follow-up can never be underestimated. The referrals he continues to receive from his customer base are one of the keys to his continued success in the profession.
Barry believes in 'Service Beyond the Sale'. His dedication is for the life of your investment and not merely the length of your transaction. He happily goes the extra distance and makes himself readily available to check on properties, follow up on maintenance work, offer advice and answer any questions that you may have. This is one reason that Barry Breit has sold over $95,000,000.00 of real estate from Avon to the northern most beaches of Corolla.
